The operation

I have been so busy lately and just too tired and not in the right frame of mind to write up my blog. Must have been visiting the hospital twice a day, answering all the phone calls and emails and all the extra jobs I have to do at the moment that Tony is unable to do. Like scoop out the leaves and look after the pool, take Pinto for walks, wait on Tony as he is unable to drive or lift or bend and just all the general run of the house.
After Tony came out of hospital last Saturday everything was going even better then he expected and he was feeling quite good. That is until Tuesday afternoon when he was unable to pee. He rang the doctor and he said to get to hospital asap. So we sent to Westmead Public Hospital as there is no emergency dept at Westmead Private. They took him in straight away and the male nurse put a catheter in and as the emergency was now over we then had to wait our turn to see a doctor. We had arrived at the hospital at 7.15pm and didn't get a cubicle
until 11pm. We then had to tell several people what the problem was and finally a boy doctor arrived (he couldn't have been any more than 15 or am I getting too old). This doctor then proceeded to take a blood test. It took him 3 goes before he was successful (I was about to grab the needle out of his hand and say I will do it) and this was with a maintenance guy holding a large torch so he could see as the lights in the cubicle were not working. I waited with Tony until 3.30am trying to sleep on 2 small chairs put together when the nurse said the blood tests were a bit wacky and showed some infection and that he wouldn't be out for a few hours or he may even be admitted. I then decided I would go home as I needed sleep. I guess I must have needed sleep as I ended up driving down the busway going home. Just as well there are not to many cars and buses on the road at that time. The hospital rang at 8.00am to come and pick Tony up. He goes back to the specialist next Thursday to have the catheter removed.

This is just a short blog as we have just returned from Craig and Danielle's place. It was Amy's seventh birthday.
